The next generation of pitmasters is ready to fire up the grills! It's their chance to show off their skills, creativity, and experience the excitement of competitive BBQ. Whether they're seasoned young cooks or firing up the grill for the first time, this their chance to step into the spotlight!

Open to children ages 6-16 whose parent or guardian is a registered Smoke on the Shores competitor

Each competitor/team must have an adult chaperone (over 18) on site with them during the contest. The child competitor/team must do all preparation, cooking, and presentation. The adult is only allowed to assist with safety and supervision (lighting the grill, dangerous cutting, etc.).

Each competitor/team will need to provide their own grill. All cooking takes place at the parent or guardian assigned cook site

Each competitor/team will be provided with meat by Mister Brisket. 6–10-year-old division will receive 3 - 1/2LB burger patties. 11–16-year-old division will receive 3 - strip steaks.

The meat must be the signature ingredient in your prepared dish. Other ingredients can be added such as marinades, spices, sauces, vegetables, other proteins, condiments, sauces, cheeses, ingredients, and toppings, etc.

Each competitor must prepare a minimum of six samples of your dish for presentation/judging (one sample for each judge). If cooking a burger, these can remain whole and the judges can cut the samples. Just make sure you provide enough samples for 6 judges.

Your dish must be “plated” in a 9x9 Styrofoam container provided by the contest organizer. Entries may not be submitted in any other container.

Turn in is at 2:30 pm. on Saturday, March 20th. The allowable turn-in time will be 2:25pm to 2:35 pm, with no tolerance for early or late turn-in. The event will have an official clock to denote the time.
